YO WHAT UP, I’M LUCAS

I’ve been obsessed with other worlds for as long as I can remember. Comics became the fastest way for me to both consume and build them without needing permission from a room full of people. You work with a small team of artists, you bring imagination to the page, and you can go further than you ever could within the constraints of a film budget.

Stories saved my life. They gave me a door I could walk through when the world within my own mind was too stifling. I’m drawn to genre because it can perhaps be more honest than straight dramatic storytelling. Action, horror, sci-fi, and fantasy create a veil through which we can maybe see our world a bit more clearly. I love stories that move fast, hit hard, and still carry real emotion underneath the surface.

The only question I ever ask myself when creating or consuming media is does it move me and if it does it joins the pantheon of stories and myth that are apart of my very mind and soul. Comics have always had to fight for their right to be taken seriously and I’m very lucky to have never needed convincing.

Right now, my focus is simple: write great comics, build a clear body of work, and keep expanding the worlds I can create, both original and inside the universes I grew up loving.
